Norie McGillivray was born and raised in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, before moving to Denman Island, Canada 12 years ago. She grew up cooking traditional Japanese food with a passion and has studied different culinary styles over the years. For many years she was very interested in Macrobiotics, healthy living and finding the balance within healthy food and art/beauty. Making sushi has allowed her to explore her creative side and her “Mandala Sushi” has become a favourite at many local events. She has offered cooking classes over the years within the community and enjoys sharing what she knows. Norie caters events when called upon, and you can sometimes find her at the Saturday market and sample her delicious and beautiful sushi.
